About SQL Server Services

Iseyon designs, tunes and supports Microsoft SQL Server estates. SQL Server is a mature relational engine with transaction processing, columnstore indexes for analytical queries, in-memory tables, Always On availability groups, encryption at rest and in flight, auditing, and a BI stack in the box with SSIS, SSAS and SSRS. Recent releases push further into hybrid operation, with links to Azure for replication, analytics and recovery, and SQL Server 2025 continues that direction across development languages, data types and operating systems.

Most SQL Server problems Iseyon is called into share the same origins: an index strategy nobody has revisited in years, a query pattern the schema was never designed for, a recovery plan that has never been tested, or a version that is out of support and cannot be moved because nothing is documented. The engine itself is almost always fine. That work is what we do.

SQL Server BI and Analytics Services

BI and Analytics Consulting: SSIS, SSAS and SSRS

Iseyon delivers on Microsoft's BI stack where it is the right fit. SSIS packages for data integration, built with logging, restartability and error routing, so a 3am failure is logged and can be restarted from where it stopped. SSAS models, tabular or multidimensional, with the measure definitions agreed with the business owners before the first report is built. SSRS for paginated and operational reporting where a pixel-exact document is the actual requirement. Where a workload has outgrown the stack, we say so and set out the migration path.

SQL Server Data Warehousing

Iseyon designs SQL Server warehouses for analytical access patterns: star and snowflake schemas at an agreed grain, slowly changing dimension handling decided deliberately for each dimension, and incremental load patterns that can be rerun safely. Partitioning is aligned to how the data is queried and archived, with columnstore indexes where scan-heavy workloads justify them. Load windows and reconciliation are designed in, so a failed overnight run has a defined recovery path.

Health Checks and Diagnostics

Iseyon starts with evidence. A health check covers wait statistics to identify what the instance is actually waiting on, the top queries by duration, reads and frequency, and index usage against missing index pressure. It also covers tempdb and memory configuration, backup and recovery state including whether restores have ever been tested, and patch and support status. The output is a prioritized list of findings with the reasoning attached, so your team can judge each recommendation on its evidence.

Design, Architecture and Implementation

Iseyon provides schema and instance design, installation and configuration to a documented standard, capacity and storage layout planning, security baseline configuration, and the promotion path between environments. Where a database supports both transactional and reporting workloads, we separate them so they stop competing for the same buffer pool.

Performance Tuning and Optimization

Iseyon tunes from measurement. That means execution plan analysis and query rewriting, index consolidation as often as index creation, statistics and parameter sniffing issues, blocking and deadlock analysis, tempdb contention, and configuration at instance level. Query Store is used to baseline before a change and prove the effect after it, and the platform's own query processing features are applied where the measurements show they help. Findings go back to the development team so the same pattern is caught before the next release.

High Availability and Disaster Recovery

Iseyon implements Always On availability groups, failover cluster instances, log shipping and backup strategies chosen against your recovery time and recovery point objectives. Failover is tested. Recovery runbooks are written for the people who will be woken up, and the gap between what the business believes it has and what the configuration actually provides is documented before an incident finds it.

Security and Compliance

Iseyon configures encryption at rest and in transit, column-level protection where sensitive fields need it, role-based access with permissions granted to roles, auditing that a reviewer can read, and separation of duties between application, administration and reporting access. Configuration is documented so an auditor's question has a ready answer.

Upgrades, Migration and Modernization

Iseyon plans upgrades and migrations for estates that cannot afford surprises. That means compatibility assessment, Query Store baselines captured before the move and compared after it, compatibility level changed as a controlled step of its own, and a rehearsed cutover with a rollback plan. We also give a clear evaluation of whether the destination should be a newer SQL Server, Azure SQL Managed Instance or a different platform entirely. We will tell you when staying put is the better answer.

Administration and Handover

Iseyon works toward your team running the estate. That means monitoring and alerting that fires on conditions worth waking someone for, maintenance jobs for backups, integrity checks, index and statistics work, documented configuration standards, runbooks for the failure modes seen during the engagement, and training for the DBAs and developers who own it next. Ongoing support continues where a client wants it. The platform runs without us either way.
